The Campground

We stayed at Lake Mead RV Village. This campground is awesome I would definitely go back. Here are a few pictures from around camp:

Taking Care of Business

The first thing we had to do was get our license plates registered here in Nevada, which meant we also needed new ID cards. We ended up being there pretty much all day. It is safe to say this was not the highlight of our Vegas stay so far. But, we are officially Nevadans now!

Historic Railroad Trail

Josh took the kids out on a 10 mile bike ride with old train tunnels. The kids had fun running through the tunnels and collecting rocks!

Hoover Dam

Of course we had to go see the Hoover Dam, since we are camped just minutes away! It was pretty magnificent. Josh even got a little spooked about high up we were, haha. Not me, I’ve never been too afraid of heights. The only downside here was that the cement walls are really high, so the kids couldn’t really see much from their stroller.

Working/Playing at the Jump House

IMG_1679One of the toughest things about our new lifestyle is just balancing out work/play! But luckily Josh found this awesome “toddler heaven” that also has really fast and free wifi. Kids get to play + we get to work. There are just hours and hours of fun things for the kids to do there. I think they probably had more fun here than anywhere else!

Thanksgiving on the Strip

thanksgiving on the vegas stripIt turns out there are tons of fun things to take kids to do on the Vegas Strip, and most of them are free. I had a list of 12 different things I wanted to do, and I think we accomplished 3 of them 🙂 The downside is, everything is really far apart, and traveling with a stroller in Vegas is like going through a maze! We must have gone up and down on about 25 different elevators. We saw sharks at Mandalay Bay, went to Hershey’s World and M&M World (the kids wanted to buy everything), and we saw the fountain show at the Bellagio (this was my favorite part). We heard that the lines for restaurants serving a traditional turkey dinner were averaging a 2-3 hour wait, so we had PF Changs 🙂

Henry and Josh’s Home Depot Project

While the boys had fun being manly, Addie and I got to do some holiday shopping 🙂 We stocked up on Christmas decorations, and when we got home we decorated the camper. Now we are in the holiday spirit!

Visiting Santa at the Magical Forest

This place was so much fun! It had a train ride, magical forest walk (with bazillions of Christmas trees and lights), a carousel, a huge tubing slide, food, and Santa Claus!

Where We’re Going Next:

We are headed to Mission Bay in San Diego in the morning. It sort of marks a “vacation within a vacation” for us, because we will be seeing lots and lots of touristy attractions! In 10 days, we will be visiting Seaworld, Legoland, and the San Diego Zoo. Then right after, its off to Disneyland. We will be camped on the beach, so hopefully we will get to spend a good amount of time in our swimsuits too 🙂
