We’ve officially been in Las Vegas for 3 weeks! We are pretty settled here. The RV park we are at is by far the nicest and quietest that we’ve stayed in so far.

IMG_1682Its super beautiful here, and the weather is so awesome. Its like we’re in the middle of spring in Denver! The entire city is surrounded by mountain views. Sometimes it reminds me a lot of Colorado (except even drier!), until I turn and realize I am surrounded by mountains on all sides. It is just a 30 minute drive west of the city and you are in Red Rock Canyon, which is awesome. Or, go a 30 minute drive south of the city, and you’re at Lake Mead, which literally looks like a painting. Everything else is pretty similar to any other city as far as restaurants, shopping, and diversity go.

Since arriving, we’ve been back and forth about our future plans and goals. We wanted to come up with a list of goals for the new year, but we struggled with pinpointing what exactly we want to do next. We realized that we no longer want to travel to random destinations with no higher purpose. We want to create something, to give back, to be innovative, and to make a positive impact. We want to do something that matters. During all this traveling, we have been really focused on finding the true meaning and purpose of our lives.

We finally came up with a goal list, but its not like the typical goal lists that we’ve had in the past. Our past goal lists included financial goals, material goals (new house, car, etc), vacation goals, family goals (get married, have a baby, etc). Now our goal list is more of a mission statement describing the kind of people we want to be and how we want to live our lives. I will post more details about it on our Goals page.

Traveling and living in the RV has opened up our minds to a whole new world of possibilities for us. Having so many options can be somewhat paralyzing, so it has been a challenge just to narrow in our focus to the things that really matter.

After a lot of thought, we decided to put the kids in part-time daycare for the duration of our time here in Las Vegas. We are getting a little overworked with me being 8-9 months pregnant, watching 2 toddlers, and running/growing the business all at the same time. We need some extra time dedicated to our business, and when Baby #3 comes we will have some time dedicated to just her. After touring a bunch of daycares near us (La Petite, Kindercare, Montessori, and Goddard), we decided to pick our old friend Kindercare 🙂 I think our old Highlands Ranch teachers will be happy to know that we still think Kindercare is the best school for us.

We went back and forth about it A LOT, but we have finally settled on having the baby at Siena Hospital here in Vegas. We are scheduled for March 3rd, just a few short weeks away! I am nervous to have the baby in a different hospital, but we think moving back to Denver at this point is just not the best option for us (mostly because of the weather, the lack of nice RV parks in Denver metro, and we are residents of Nevada now, so our health insurance is here). BUT plane tickets are super cheap to fly here, or if you have an RV, we can make sure you get a good rate at our resort (hint, hint, come and see us and our new baby!)

Thats all for now, we will update again soon!
