parking in an HOA neighborhoodIts been a few weeks since we’ve updated our blog, we have just been so busy! So much has been happening to prepare for our new life – selling furniture, organizing and minimizing everything we own, getting repairs/upgrades on the RV, installing extra safety features (we got a nice rear view camera and an awesome tire pressure monitoring system), setting up our new mobile internet, getting caught up on Dr. appointments (that includes Sam too!), and so much more.

On top of all that, we’ve been managing 3 new partnership opportunities for our business, which could help minimize (or eliminate) our need for any extra marketing endeavors while we’re on the road.

Everyone has been asking questions about when we are leaving, and where we are going first, so here is the scoop:

We are out of our house on October 21st. However, we won’t be leaving the state quite yet. My 20 week anatomy scan for the baby is on October 27th, so we will be sticking around Denver so we can make sure baby is healthy, and find out whether we will have another boy or another girl! Plus, this gives us a chance to “practice” with our fifth wheel before we take it out someplace far away.

We’ll be staying for 1 week at Cherry Creek Reservoir, and another week at Chatfield. Then we will be leaving on November 1st, heading south to avoid cold Colorado weather. Currently, we are between wintering in St. George, UT or West/South West Texas. The decision is not as easy as you might think because we have to factor in health insurance, what city and hospital we will be having the baby at, setting up a new domicile (the state where we will pay taxes and register our vehicle), and think about where we want to be for the holidays.

We currently have the RV parked in front of our house, but we have to move it soon before the neighbors call the HOA police. We decided to spring for a washer/dryer combo, so I think we will be taking it back to Camping World to install it before we leave.

So far we have already learned a TON about our new little home. Josh has been busy figuring out our new hitch, learning how to use our truck’s fancy trailer assist controls, and in general learning all the in’s and out’s of the RV’s systems. We have a lot more to learn though. But for the most part, everyone we talk to has been super supportive and helpful. We have gotten a lot of helpful tips from family/friends, and even from fellow full-timers we have met at Camping World (we spend a lot of time at Camping World these days).

We have a lot left to do before we leave, so we might be difficult to get a hold of for the next week. We will be packing up the camper, selling/donating the rest of our belongings, and tying up about 20 other loose ends all before Wednesday October 21st.

We’ll update soon!
